Privacy Policy

Salah Horizon is built to help you keep your prayers on time. We designed it to do that with as little of your data as possible. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what information the app touches, why it touches it, and where it goes.
The short version
- We do not have user accounts. There is nothing to log into.
- We do not run advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking.
- Your location is used only to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction.
- We do not store your location, your settings, or anything else about you on our servers.
Information used on your device
The app keeps three things on your phone — they never leave it:
- Your settings — calculation method, madhab, notification preferences, favorite cities.
- Notification permission and schedule — if you turn on prayer reminders, iOS schedules them locally on your device.
- The Qibla calculation — done entirely on-device using your current location and the coordinates of Makkah.
Information that briefly leaves your device
One feature needs a network call — turning your coordinates into a readable city name. We do not log, store, or analyze your coordinates after the response is sent back to you.
- Reverse geocoding — when you grant location permission, the app sends your coordinates to our backend, which forwards them to OpenCage, a third-party geocoding service. They do not receive any identifier from us.
What we do not collect
- No name, email, phone number, or account information.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA) or tracking IDs.
- No analytics, crash reporting, or behavioral data.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No location history.
Children
Salah Horizon is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
